🌊 What is the GP Rating Course?

GP Rating (General Purpose Rating) is a pre-sea training course approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. It prepares students for both deck and engine departments onboard merchant ships.

After completing this 6-month training, candidates can join ships as Ordinary Seaman (OS) or Wiper, and gradually rise in rank based on performance and experience.

•Minimum Qualification: 10th Pass (with 40% marks in English, Maths, Science)

•Age Limit: 17.5 to 25 years

•Medically Fit (as per D.G. Shipping norms)
