Role of a Petroleum Engineer

A Petroleum Engineer is responsible for finding out unexplored reservoirs of oil or natural gas.
Thereafter he is responsible for finding out viable drilling methods by tagging a geologist along with him and understanding the rock structure and properties, geological formations in that area.

While deciding the drilling method and initiating the operation, special care has to be taken up by the Petroleum Engineer, to derive out maximum extraction of the oil or gas.Once the drilling process starts, he is responsible for monitoring the whole process
